Thirty-one Israeli soldiers were killed during 2021, local media reported yesterday.
Kikar HaShabbat said that the 11 soldiers had committed suicide, adding that the rest were killed “in accidents or during military operations.”
“Ten soldiers were killed in various road accidents, another six died of illness, and two others were killed in unknown accidents,” the Hebrew website pointed out.
The report noted that 67 Israeli soldiers were wounded last year, compared to 41 in 2020 and 35 in 2019. “Most of the military injuries were due to the coronavirus infections,” the report explained.
