Secretary-General of the Palestinian People’s Party (PPP) Bassam al-Salhi announced on Sunday his party’s failure to unite the Palestinian left-wing, local Palestinian news agencies reported.

Al-Salhi, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO)’s Executive Committee, expressed his sadness about his party’s inability to unite the Palestinian left-wing.

Meanwhile, he stressed that his party is ready to cooperate with any democratic or left-wing parties aiming to achieve unity.

Al-Salhi reiterated that his party would remain ready for joint work to achieve the national goals, including the realisation of Palestinian dignity and democracy.

“We will remain fighting for the unity of the left-wingers at the popular level in order to cooperate in the field of social struggles,” he expressed.

Al-Salhi revealed that his party has nearly completed its electoral list for the Palestinian parliamentary elections, cooperating with the groups that had agreed on the joint social-economic programme.
