Germany to continue its arms supply to Israel, Scholz says

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Berlin will continue to arm Israel and has not agreed to change in policy, according to Anadolu.

Scholz declared that his government would not support calls to boycott goods, services and products coming from Israel, stating, “Frankly, I find such demands repulsive.”

In April, Germany faced charges at the top United Nations court for allegedly “facilitating the commission of genocide” against Palestinians in Gaza in coordination with its military and political ally, Israel.

Though the International Court of Justice rejected Nicaragua’s request to issue Germany emergency orders to desist selling arms to Israel. It said its decision was largely based on a significant decrease in recent German arms sales to Israel, the largely defensive nature of arms recently sold.

The case, however, exposed Germany’s unwavering support for Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza in which more than 29,900 Palestinians have been killed, the vast majority women and children.
