Ayoob Kara lambastes American Jews and says Trump is ‘best American president’ for Israel.

A former Israeli communications minister accused American Jews of ‘betrayal’ after they overwhelmingly voted for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Ayoob Kara, a member of Israel’s Druze minority who served in the Knesset as a member of the Likud Party until last year, said on Thursday that President Donald Trump was the ‘best American President’ for Israel.

‘Feels a big disappointment that 72% of the American Jews do not have the gratitude and chose Joe Biden,’ Kara tweeted.

‘I was expecting they will support President Trump who is the best American President for the State of Israel has had.’

An exit poll by J Street found that 77 percent of American Jewish voters cast their ballots for Biden, while 21 percent chose Trump.

The Associated Press’s Votecast poll found that 68 percent of Jewish voters went for Biden, while 30 percent cast their votes for Trump.

The trend matched a historical voting pattern of the Jewish community in America, which tends to skew to the left.

Israelis, meanwhile, favour Trump by a big majority, with 54 percent supporting the president, compared with 21 percent who prefer Biden, according to a poll conducted by Israel’s Channel 12.

During his first term, Trump made a series of moves in support of Israel at the expense of Palestinians, including moving the US embassy to Jerusalem and recognising the city as its undivided capital, endorsing Israel’s sovereignty of Syria’s Golan Heights, and most recently brokering normalisation deals between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain.
