As debates among Iran’s leadership continue, one intelligence agency had a very different vision for Iran’s postwar future.

According to the reports, the plan began with killing Supreme Leader Khamenei, before providing aerial support for a Kurdish offensive from Iraq into Iran.

Israeli officials hoped that as the offensive gained weapons and support, the Iranian public would join in until the effort reached Tehran, where Israel would install none other than hardline former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as Iran’s new leader.
