Since declaring war on Gaza, Israeli forces have killed at least 582 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to an MEE tally.

Since the beginning of Israel’s assault on Gaza in October, there has been a severe escalation in violence and human rights violations in the occupied West Bank.

According to a tally by Middle East Eye, at least 582 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers there over the period.

Figures from rights groups and NGOs suggest more than 1,000 Palestinians have been displaced and almost 160,000 adversely affected by demolitions in the past 10 months.

On Wednesday, Israel launched its largest operation in the West Bank in decades. Drones hit Jenin, Tulkarm and Tubas as troops opened fire on Palestinians on the ground, killing at least nine people.

The latest operation marks a crescendo in almost a year of violence in the territory.
