Scores of Israeli Jewish settlers violated measures taken to fight the coronavirus and raided Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday, provoking Muslim worshippers, Arab48 reported.
According to the news website, the Jewish settlers were protected by Israeli occupation forces who arrested four Palestinians inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque compounds claiming they had violated Israeli sovereignty.
Reporting to the Wadi Al-Hilwa Information Centre, the Palestinians were arrested while distributing flyers including information about the coronavirus.
This angered occupation forces as the flyers included a Palestinian flag which was part of the logo of the Palestinian Medical Relief organisation.
The Palestinians were later released but ordered to leave the city for 14 days.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police raided the house of the Deputy Director of the Department of Awqaf in Jerusalem Dr Najeh Bkeerat, arresting him, questioning him and releasing him several hours later.
Activists called for Palestinians to perform prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque and not to leave it empty in order to undermine Israel’s plans to judaise it.
