In Gaza, 97% of all water is undrinkable, leaving almost 2 million Palestinians without any safe water to drink. Even the sea surrounding Gaza is contaminated, as millions of liters of raw sewage spill into it each day.
More than a quarter of all reported disease in Gaza is caused by dirty water, flooding hospitals with sick patients. But this is a manmade problem with a political solution.
The international community must challenge Israel to lift the illegal blockade imposed by Israel so people living in Gaza can rebuild their lives and access the most basic services we take for granted. It’s time people knew what life is really like for people living in the blockaded Gaza strip.
