The Palestinian Popular Conference stressed its commitment to the option of comprehensive resistance, as it is the proven path to defeating the occupation, and rejected the Oslo approach.
In a statement released to mark 30 years since the signing of the Oslo Accords, the Popular Conference also stressed the need to stop counting on American promises to reach compromise solutions with Israel, which deny all Palestinian rights.
The conference called for working to formulate a national strategy to confront the crimes of the right-wing, racist, fascist occupation government, and to capitalize on the comprehensive crisis that is afflicting Israel by committing to implementing the decisions of the National and Central Councils to withdraw recognition of the occupying state and dissolve all restrictions and obligations of the Oslo Accords.
It also called on all Palestinians to work to restore the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to its role as a leader and political supporter of the resistance, by reclaiming it and restoring its national liberation role through democratic and fair elections for the Palestinian National Council (PNC).
The conference urged all community and civil society forces and groups, as well as national figures concerned with people and their rights, and the PLO, to take national collective action in order to develop the popular pressure bloc, as a popular tool that forces the PA leadership to comply with the will of the people.
“The anniversary of the Oslo Accords passes against the backdrop of serious challenges and threats represented by the continued approaches of concessions, surrender, corruption, the increase in internal and political violations, and a monopoly by the leadership that has lost its legitimacy over managing public affairs and a failure to adhere to the decisions of the national consensus. This has allowed for rushing towards normalizing relations with the occupation state,” the statement said.
