Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant yesterday signed the biggest defence deal for the sale of Israel’s Arrow-3 long-range anti-ballistic missile system to Germany.
Officials from both countries signed an agreement committing a $600 million down payment to start the project. Initial deliveries are expected in 2025 and full operation by 2030.
A reception ceremony was held for Gallant at the German Ministry of Defence in Berlin.
Gallant said that the $3.5 billion sale of the system is the biggest agreement to date between the two states.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Gallant added: “Today we made history. Honoured to visit Berlin and join my friend and counterpart, Minister Boris Pistorius in giving the green light to the “Arrow-3 for Germany” agreement.” Israel and Germany are true partners.”
