Israeli forces yesterday ordered the cessation of construction on 17 Palestinian houses and facilities in the village of Sarta, west of the city of Salfit, in the northern occupied West Bank.

The head of the Sarta Council, Ibrahim al-Khatib, said in a statement that the occupation forces raided the village and handed out notices to citizens to halt work and construction in 17 houses, most of which are inhabited, and four barracks in the northern and eastern areas, under the pretext that the buildings are in Area C of the occupied West Bank which is under Israel’s administrative and military control.

Al-Khatib added that 55 such notices have been delivered over the past two months.
