Israeli occupation forces yesterday forced Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus to shut their shops after claimed settler cars were being hit with stones, Wafa news agency reported.
According to the news site, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Huwwara in Nablus and forced shops to close, claiming this was a punishment for stone throwing.
Local activist Awwad Nijem said the Palestinian shopkeepers refused to obey the orders and “the Israeli occupation forces fired stun grenades at the shops and their keepers and forced them to close.”
An official from the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said occupation forces had used stone throwing as a “fake pretext to impose collective punishment on the Palestinians of Huwwara.”
