Israeli occupation forces yesterday detained nine Palestinian students aged between eight and 13 in the Tel Rumeida neighbourhood in the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron/Al-Khalil.
WAFA news agency said the children were detained as they were on their way home from school and were taken to an unknown location.
The Israeli army has intensified its presence in Hebron as settlers celebrate the Jewish Sukkot holiday during which they have escalated their provocations of the city’s Palestinian population, attacking them in the streets and in their homes.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian girl suffered bruises and wounds and was admitted to hospital after she was beaten by Israeli occupation forces in the centre of Hebron.
The Israeli occupation troops also fired tear gas canisters at people in the centre of the city, causing dozens to suffocate.
At the same time, the Israeli occupation forces ordered all Palestinian shops on the road leading to the central market in Hebron to close to allow settlers to visit the tomb of an alleged Jewish Rabbi Otniel Ben Qenz.
