The experience of arrest, interrogation and life in captivity carries political, economic and social dimensions that have a great impact on the Palestinian people, since the beginning of the occupation to the present day, the policy of arresting and incarcerating Palestinians has been used continuously to suppress the aspirations of the Palestinian people for independence and freedom, and to oppress the Palestinian prisoner, and practice collective punishment against them and their families.
تحمل تجربة الاعتقال والتحقيق والحياة في الأسر أبعاداً سياسية واقتصادية واجتماعية بالغة التأثير على الشعب الفلسطيني، فمنذ بداية الاحتلال إلى يومنا هذا، استُخدِمت سياسة الاعتقال بحق الفلسطينيين وزجهم في السجون بشكل مستمر ودائم، لقمع تطلعات الشعب الفلسطيني في الاستقلال والحرية، ولقهر المعتقلين والأسرى الفلسطينيين، وممارسة العقوبات الجماعية بحقهم وحق عائلاتهم.
