Jewish settlers cut down 45 olive trees in Burin, south of occupied Nablus, in the northern West Bank, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported.
Ghassan Daghlas, the official in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank, said that the citizens today discovered that settlers cut down 45 olive trees from the southern lands of Burin, near the settlement of Yitzhar, owned by Palestinians Inad Zaben and Khaled Zaben.
Several major arson attacks by Jewish settlers have been recorded in the occupied territories over the past few weeks, coinciding with the start of the olive harvest season.
In early October, Jewish settlers uprooted 900 olive and apricot saplings and stole olive crops in the village of Sebastia, also near Nablus. Moreover, settlers uprooted 70 trees in Masafer Yatta, south of the West Bank city of Al-Khalil/Hebron.
