Israel said Friday it dropped more than 18,000 bombs on Iran during a 40-day war that began on Feb. 28, Anadolu reports.
In a statement on the US social media company X, the Israeli army said it carried out “more than 1,000 offensive air sorties” against Iran during the conflict.
According to previously released military data, dozens of fighter jets participated in each airstrike.
The army said more than 10,800 airstrikes were conducted, hitting over “6,700 components and 4,000 targets,” without providing further details.
On Thursday, Israel’s Finance Ministry estimated the cost of 40 days of war with Iran and Lebanon at around $17.5 billion, according to Channel 12.
Pakistan, together with Türkiye, China, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, managed to secure a two-week ceasefire between Washington and Tehran on Wednesday, 40 days after the US and Israel initiated attacks on Iran on Feb. 28.
As part of the ceasefire deal, the two sides agreed to meet in Islamabad for talks to negotiate a lasting peace.
