Israel has intensified its demolitions of buildings in southern Gaza, with reports indicating that the army is also shelling parts of the enclave.
Concerns are mounting over Israel’s continued restrictions on humanitarian aid despite the ceasefire.
According to The New Arab’s Arabic-language sister site, Al-Araby al-Jadeed, the Israeli army demolished several homes in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, early on Sunday morning, while military vehicles opened fire east of Jabalia in the north.
Al-Jazeera English also reported that air raids and artillery fire struck Rafah in the south and Beit Lahiya city in Gaza’s north.
These developments come as Israel maintains a tight siege on Gaza, despite the ceasefire agreement remaining in effect and largely holding.
The Gaza Government Media Office confirmed on Saturday that Israel continues to violate the terms of the agreement, stating that the number of aid trucks allowed into the besieged territory between 10 and 31 October 2025 amounted to only 24 percent of what was stipulated.
The United Nations further reported that humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza remain heavily restricted, despite modest improvements in food distribution.
Last Thursday, the UN noted that only 149 aid trucks were offloaded at Gaza’s crossings the previous day, hindered by congested routes and ongoing delays imposed by the Israeli army.
Gaza media office rejects US looting claims as ‘fabricated’
The Gaza Government Media Office has rejected claims by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) that Hamas fighters looted an aid vehicle, following the release of a video purporting to show the incident.
On Saturday, US CENTCOM released what it described as drone footage showing “suspected Hamas elements” seizing an aid truck in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
“We affirm that this accusation is completely false and fabricated from its very foundation, and comes within the framework of a systematic media disinformation campaign aimed at distorting the image of the Palestinian police forces, which are carrying out their national and humanitarian duty in securing aid and protecting relief convoys,” the media office said in a statement.
It added that the “police system is making every effort to control matters despite the continued ‘Israeli’ meddling in the internal arena, with several objectives including engineering starvation by obstructing the delivery of aid.”
