With just one per cent of ballot papers left to count, the Arab-dominated Joint List is said to have received 87.2 per cent of votes in Arab cities.
Arab48 reported that this was an increase from 80.4 per cent in the previous election.
According to the Elections Committee, 4,579,931 eligible Israeli voters, including Arabs in Israel, cast their votes, noting that the turnout was 1.6 per cent higher than the elections that took place in September 2019.
Data from the office of the central election headquarters of the Arab candidates, showed that the turnout among the Arabs was 65 per cent.
Israel held its third election in under a year on Monday. Incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc has so far received 58 of the 61 seats necessary to lead the next government.
The Arab List has received 15 seats in the Knesset, its highest ever showing.
